When you submit your story cover for review, it goes into a review queue and our team will take a look at it, compare it to our new story cover guidelines (which can be found here) and then either Approve or Reject it. You are always welcome to submit a new story card or to edit and resubmit one that was rejected.
If your story is already published and your story cover or image is rejected, your story generally will remain live on the app with a default story cover. This will not affect readers who are currently reading your story, or whether it appears in search or in the trending section.
When a new story cover or image is approved, you will simply need to re-publish your story from the Writer Portal for the change to go live!
