What are reads? How do you count them?

Every time an Episode player reads a chapter of your story, you will earn a read for that story. Both iOS and Android users count toward your overall total of reads.

Your dashboard will show you total reads by month and by story (for published, eligible stories only).

We reconcile all reads once per month. Prior to our reconciliation, your reads will be marked as “Estimates”  or “Pending Review” and are subject to change. Once we have reviewed all reads for the month, we will mark them as “Verified.” It is normal to see variation between “Estimates,” “Pending Review,” and Verified reads.

We plan to finalize the number of reads for all writers and mark them as ‘Verified’ within 30 days from the end of each month.

e.g. Reads from the month of September 2020, will be finalized and marked as ‘Verified’ on or before October 30th, 2020.

For the current month, total reads will increase as each day’s reads are calculated and updated. Please note that the data is not able to update in real time and that any reads reported as “Estimates” are subject to change.
